by | Jan 19, 2026

As we look ahead to another exciting year, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on what made last year so special — our incredible team 💙

🏆 The BVH Annual Leroy Award ~ Congratulations Nurse Michelle Nurse Michelle ~ 2025 Recipient of the Annual Leroy Award

The Annual Leroy Award recognises overall excellence and outstanding commitment to our clinics.

Mich is an absolute delight to work with. No task is ever too much, no request is ever met with hesitation, and she is always the first to step in and support her teammates. She has an incredible way of making everyone around her feel backed, supported and valued – whether you’re a long standing colleague or brand new to the team.

Her nursing skills are outstanding. Her care for our patients is second to none, and she treats every animal as if they were her own. On top of that Mich is a wonderful mentor to our newer team members, generously sharing her knowledge, encouragement and calm confidence.

Simply put , Mich embodies everything the Leroy Award stands for. We are incredibly lucky to have her as part of our team, and even luckier to work alongside her everyday.

Congratulations Mich – and thank you for everything you do 💙

🏆 The Annual Mandy Villinger Excellence in Nursing Award ~ Congratulations Nurse Casey Nurse Casey (left) ~ Recipient of the Annual Mandy Villinger Excellence in Nursing Award

The Mandy Villinger Annual Excellence in Nursing Award recognises exceptional nursing demonstrated throughout the year. This award carries special meaning for our clinic, as it honours the legacy of Nurse Mandy, who dedicated over 20 years of her career to our team.

Mandy’s loyalty, dedication, and unwavering commitment to patient care left a lasting mark on our clinic. She embodied what it means to be an outstanding veterinary nurse — skilled, compassionate, dependable, and deeply invested in both her patients and her colleagues. Her influence continues to shape our team, and her memory reminds us of the standards we strive to uphold every day.

This year, the BVH award is proudly presented to Nurse Casey, a long-standing and highly respected member of the Berwick Veterinary Hospital team.

Mandy played a key mentoring role in Casey ’s nursing career, helping to shape the nurse — and colleague — she is today. Casey ’s consistency, professionalism, and commitment to excellence reflect the very values this award represents, and there is no doubt Mandy would be incredibly proud to see her accepting this recognition.

Congratulations, Casey, on this well-deserved honour — and thank you for continuing Mandy ’s legacy through your dedication to exceptional nursing care.

These awards recognise the dedication, compassion and teamwork our staff bring every single day. We’re so proud of the care they provide to our patients and the support they give to one another.

Thank you to our wonderful clients for trusting us with your pets — we’re excited for another year of caring for them like family 🐾💙
