BRAVERY AWARD SEPTEMBER 2020

by | Oct 5, 2020

Like most of us, Rollzie loves a good nap in the fresh air and sunshine – but as we all know, too much sun exposure can have serious consequences on our skin and overall health.

When Rollzie’s Mum noticed several non-healing scabs on his tummy area she brought him to see us for a check-up. Surgical biopsies were taken of the lesions and sent to the laboratory for further analysis. The results confirmed a number of cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinomas – a form of skin cancer commonly associated with chronic damage to the skin by ultraviolet radiation, or sun damage.

Thankfully, after two surgeries, Dr, Tracy was able to completely remove the cancers. Rollzie now has a body suit and sunscreen for his carefully monitored time in the sun!

Have you made sure your pet is sun smart ready as the weather warms up?
