Sadie presented to the hospital after vomiting up 2 socks and passing another. With a decreased appetite and the possibility of further foreign bodies being palpable on physical examination, Sadie’s owners elected to monitor their girl closely and provide her with pain relief and anti-nausea medications.
Unfortunately Sadie’s condition declined overnight and she was taken to Casey Pet Emergency for radiographs and further testing. Sadie was admitted to BVH the following morning for an exploratory laparotomy for the removal of a FOURTH sock … a football sock that had been missing since August!
We’re pleased to report that Sadie has made an exceptional recovery and is back to her usual cheeky self.
