Bravery Award – April 2019 – Scout

by | May 2, 2019

This is Scout – he paid us a visit late last year with complaints of a very sore front leg. Scout was admitted for a thorough physical examination and full set of X-rays, which unfortunately revealed the presence of Osteosarcoma – a type of bone cancer.

Scout was admitted to hospital and treated with an intravenous medication to slow down the rate at which his bone cells were being destroyed by the cancer. This successfully gave Scout a few months of comfort, before we saw him again in February, with returned levels of discomfort. At this time, a decision was made to amputate the affected leg, to remove the source of pain – the bone cancer.

We are thrilled to hear that Scout is loving life, pain free!

Who says 3 legs will slow you down!
