Bravery Award – May 2019 – Roxy

At the ripe old age of 18, Roxy paid us a visit following some concerns about her sore mouth. Examination revealed that she had severe periodontal disease and would require several extractions. 
Given her age, a comprehensive blood test was run, indicating an elevation in Roxy’s liver enzymes. With this knowledge, extra precautions were taken when devising her anaesthetic plan. 
Roxy’s procedure went well, and a staggering 17 teeth were removed.
This old lady is recovering well – her breath is now a lot friendlier and her mouth is pain free! 
Just goes to show that our senior patients are a lot stronger than we think!
